To be a kid growing up in the 90's, it was a very unique time. Console gaming began to take off with the NES in the late 80's, and the age of digital information was on the doorsteps of this generation. Coupled with the emergence of the 90's music, many influences began to shape his mind in ways of creating music. However, the arrival of the SNES would introduce him to the composers across the world in Japan such as Nobuo Uematsu, Yasunori Mitsuda, and many more which would create the interest to recreate this sound. In early 2000, Brian began to experiment with MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) which is now considered archaic in modern terms (at the time of this writing, 2009.)

The compositions were simple, not complex enough to really constitute a writing, but enough to fuel his interest to keep going, which he has since then. He had no training in music, there were no music classes and few piano lessons (he had a hard time committing to practicing, as he felt he was doing just fine on his own) in which his stubbornness made him think he didn't need them. While it may be true no real musician cannot continue without some musical theory, and training on an instrument, his ear guided him over the years.

To this present day, Brian has put together an album of his compositions that survived the brain storming process. There are around 30 or so uncompleted pieces that sit either waiting to be used or continued, yet they rarely get touched again; they are saved as a sort of "time capsule" to retrace his footsteps. When a person is artistic, sometimes they will continue with what makes them happy, regardless if value is found or monetary gain. Sometimes the elements others seek will fall into the lap of the unsuspecting pursuer of the arts. Perhaps the music has purpose, or it will be something just floating out there in humanity to one day be discovered by someone and inspire them.
